Sender avatar in list view of reading pane

As far as my understanding is, currently you cannot have sender avatars display alongside the respective emails when viewing them from the reading pane WITHOUT opening them, as they show on the Web and Mobile version of outlook.

It really gives a clean visual and modern look to the UI so why isnt this view available for Outlook for desktop?

The red encricled plane in the picture attached is the missing view Im talking about.
