Search not working in Outlook 2019 since updating to Monterey 12.1 on the Mac

You need to go to updates and then advanced and then beta channel and install the beta. That is Microsoft's current fix to the problem in beta form for now. Make sure you have the most current version of Outlook installed first (by checking if you are up to date before switching channels). Check my prior replies for more specific instructions.

I tried on my 16 inch 2019 i9 MacBook Pro to get the beta both with beta and preview chanels
despite this I remain on outlook 16.56
Any ideas?

- ajmartonJan 11, 2022Brass ContributorI would make sure you have the most current version of Outlook installed (no updates showing available in the normal (non-beta) channel). If that's not the issue, I would go to the help tab and then contact support (chat) and see if they can walk you though the solution for the beta installation as that is Microsoft's current fix for the problem.

Here was the problem
Per Microsoft
"As per the ticket information, we see that you have installed Outlook for Mac application via App store. If the the Outlook for Mac application is installed via App store, you wont be able to switch to the beta version of the Outlook. Hence, I request you to Kindly uninstall and reinstall Outlook from the Microsoft website." Didn't know that would affect things!
