Drag and drop email-to-task (To Do) from favourites bug
Thanks for sharing but I can't repro.
What is your exact Outlook version number?
You can find it by using File-> About Outlook
My details;
Microsoft Outlook Version: 1.2025.1209.500
Client Version: 20251212003.10
WebView2 Version: 143.0.3650.96 (Stable)

Note that it could take quite a while for the feature to work after you've just started Outlook and opened the My Day pane. However, once it works, it should work from all accounts and both normal as well as Search Folders.

I ran into a similar issue. It is a timing or loading issue. Once you launch My Day, allow it time to reload. Some users have reported that it took several hours. For me, after 10 minutes, I closed and rebooted My Day without any issues with dragging emails to the task or calendar.
However, I am still seeing a 20 to 30 seconds delay for MyDay pane to load.I also experienced the same loading issue with Rules. The good news is Microsoft New Outlook team is aware of it and hope it to performance improvements soon.

For me, the issue has been very unpredictable. For a long time now, it has taken a while for the To Do pane to load in the sidebar. However, it worked just fine to drag emails into it, once loaded. But for a little while now, even with the pane fully loaded, I couldn't drag emails in to create tasks. Sometimes if I close and reopen Outlook, the issue goes away -- other times, it doesn't.

I can't reproduce it now either . . . 🤔
I've been periodically unable to create tasks from emails and I thought this was the solution.
It seems to be working normally now, so maybe a bug was recently fixed?
Regarding the account type, I got this message when attempting to create a task from email from my Gmail account. So perhaps it can be done from personal Microsoft accounts, but not Gmail.
