Problem - Email account name is displayed as outlook_[long_hexadecimal_string]
My Outlook 365 on Windows 11 (fully updated) shows the outlook.com account name as outlook_[long_hexadecimal_string]@outlook.com instead of username-at-outlook.com. (And it is only a problem of what is displayed - sending and receiving works fine.)
I found some advice online describing how this may be resolved (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/outlook-com-email-account-appears-as-outlook-long-series-of-letters-and-numbers-outlook-com-in-outlook-for-windows-90ed7938-7f21-4cb5-a69d-a3b79ea4eafd) but none of these two methods (setting the correct primary alias and removing and re-adding the account) work and the end result is the same.
It seems that Outlook for Windows gets its knickers in a twist because there are 3 accounts:
Any ideas how to fix the displayed account name? Also, on Outlook for Android there is no such problem.

I tried the same link

But it doesn't help me as my current OL address does not appear to set as an alias but when I try and add it, it says the address already exists.
