Outlook's Vertical Typing
Outlook intermittently messes up my e-mails by writing vettically,
L
I
K
E
T
H
I
S.
My outgoing text always looks fine on MY screen but to recipients it looks as if I’ve hit Return after every letter. (Or, sometimes, after every word. ) These are always plain-vanilla e-mails: no images, downloads or typographic foofaraws involved--just "letters on a page," so to speak. The only indication I have of this come when friends/family tell me about it. If it occurs with e-mails sent to others, they may simply ignore my e-mail without my knowing there's a problem.
Does anyone have any ideas about what causes this?
- NikolinoDEGold ContributorIt sounds like you are experiencing an issue where your emails are being displayed vertically to recipients, even though they appear normal on your screen. This issue could be caused by a number of factors, including formatting issues or compatibility problems between different email clients.
Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:
1. Check your formatting: Make sure that you are using standard formatting in your emails and avoid using special characters or non-standard fonts that may not be supported by all email clients.
2. Use plain text: Try sending your emails in plain text format instead of HTML. This can help ensure that your emails are displayed correctly across different email clients.
3. Update your email client: Make sure that you are using the latest version of Outlook and that it is up to date with the latest updates and patches.
4. Check for compatibility issues: If the issue only occurs when sending emails to certain recipients, it’s possible that there may be compatibility issues between their email client and yours. You may want to try sending a test email to a different email address or using a different email client to see if the issue persists.
I hope this helps!- Bill_MarsanoCCCLXCopper ContributorJust tried replying to you and got 'authentication failed,' whatever thatmeans. In replying to others at the Hub I've been blocked by the system. Some people wonder why MicroSoft is widely loathed. Not me.
