Outlook Today browser: IE or Edge?

The Outlook browser that you can use in Outlook Today (webviewurl, outlwvw.dll) is still Internet Explorer.

As Microsoft is now moving to Edge and phasing out IE, what will happen to this feature in the Outlook Desktop application?
