Outlook search stopped working
Two to three days ago my Outlook suddenly stopped returning any search results. Every time I search I get this message. (I am using New Outlook).
I have tried changing browser, changing computer, and changing internet connection. I have tried Outlook Web, the Outlook App, and Classic Outlook. The issue seems to be only on my account, as other accounts on the same computer are working fine.
The only place the issue does not happen is on my mobile.
I have tried running the Search and Index Troubleshooter and it says "Windows Search is not working", but then when I repair the problem, it says it's fixed but I still can't search.
Any help would be appreciated.

I posted a few days ago that I had this problem. Today its working again . Apart from some attempts to fix on the day I posted originally, I have not knowing done anything since......🤔. So as someone else has already suggested its probably server side and resolves itself .... I have download Wino mail as a backup in any case, which lacks some functionality, but the search is at least reliable 🤞. Give it a week and maybe the MS Gods will smile upon you 😊

Having the same issue. Began today ~ 4pm (est) about two minutes after I sent an email. I have a few emails, some are .msn .live and .outlook. If I try to search (search box) the emails the "Need Password" appears on the bottom bar- right of center. I click this, it reconnects, but the issue repeats.
I tried changing the primary email password.
Clear the credentials.
Flush DNS
probable all the recommends for this\similar issues for the past 8 years.
Is this an MS server issue. I checked the Outlook outages - nothing appears down.

Same problem here. Investigated lots of fixes but most related to other versions of Outlook, I could find very little relating to Outlook (New). Don't think MS are interested in fixing. Got so frustrated installed Wino (Available on MS Store). V similar interface to the old Mail app I was forced to move away from. Still in development i think, but search works and the rest works well enough for me.

AshleyAttlee did you ever resolve this issue? I am now experiencing the same issue with my email address on multiple devices, but other accounts work just fine. Thank you for any help!
