Outlook Search not showing Recent Emails (December-2021)

I have found that the registry settings to disable Windows Search for Outlook, and disable server-assisted search do not help my users - only some of which seem to have this issue. Creating a new Outlook profile will make it work again for a short time. However the following two work-arounds are doing the trick:
- Select "All Outlook Items" in the drop-down list. It only seems to be the "Current Mailbox" that has problems searching. Of course this returns more than is probably desired & users have to sort through it all.
- Disable cached mode in the Exchange account. Slows searches down, especially for remote-connected users.
