Outlook Search not returning suggestions/recent emails/ contacts

Hello,

I'm currently using Outlook 365 on a windows pc.  When entering text into the search bar, it does not suggest recent emails, recent contacts, or anything at all.  All it shows me is my recent searches.  I've never had this problem with other jobs (I recently started a new one).  I've tried rebuilding the index and that did not work. I've included a screenshot below.  I also tried switching to New Outlook and this feature didn't work there either.
