Outlook says its already running but is no where to be found on computer

When I try to open Outlook it says its already running, but is not.

Tried running task management to see if it was there, but it's not.

How can I fix this

    Hi Heidi_Brandenburgwido,

here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:

    1. End Outlook.exe Task Process:
Right-click on an empty space on the Taskbar, select "Start Task Manager," and go to the "Process" tab. If you find outlook.exe under the image name, select it and click "End Process" to terminate the task.

    2. Start Outlook in Safe Mode and Disable Add-ins:
Launch Outlook in safe mode to disable add-ins, as they might be causing problems.

    3. Create a New Outlook Profile:
If the problem persists, consider creating a new Outlook profile.

    4. Repair Your Outlook Data Files:
Use the built-in Inbox Repair Tool to fix any corrupted PST files.

    5. Run the /resetnavpane command:
Clear and regenerate the Navigation Pane for the current profile.

    6. Check if Outlook is running in compatibility mode:
Ensure that Outlook is not set to run in compatibility mode, as it could lead to issues.
