Outlook on Android empty subfolders

Hi,

the question is related to Outlook on Android that is synced with my hotmail account.

I guess somebody here can help, without sending me to Android forum 🙂

So, the question:

I checked subfolders in Outlook (MS app) on Android.

They are showing: Nothing in <folder name>.

Inbox is find... Sent folder is empty .

What is the fix?

Thx.

Same issue here with a Samsung S22 Ultra, Android 13. This might work for you...

When in a subfolder and Outlook Android says "Nothing in xxx", "looks empty over here" ,I changed the filter in the top right from "all messages" to "unread" then back to "all messages".

They all started to appear after that, every folder.

YorkshireDaz The strange and wonderful world of Outlook on Android. I'll keep your method in mind if it happens to me again. Cheers.

I was having the same issue: went looking for something this morning, and found that suddenly, all of my subfolders on Outlook for Android were empty. Inbox and Sent folders were fine, but nothing in any of the subfolders.

So, I opened and closed the app a few times; restarted the phone (Samsung) a couple times. Still nothing.

Tried syncing through account settings on phone. Still nothing.

Just to see what would happen, I permanently deleted all of the 400 or so deleted items in Outlook on my PC.

Checked deleted items on phone: all of them still there although, for some reason only about 300—not the more than 400 that were on my PC.

Anyway, then I did another sync on phone (which appears to indicate that only contacts are synced with no option to sync anything else).

Then I checked subfolders: all items were back, and deleted items folder was empty.

No idea why that worked, but it did. Good luck.
