Outlook is forgetting my email password

Hi,

I just got a brand new PC with Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit.  I installed the latest version of MS Office using my Office 365 subscription.  When I open Outlook and go to File | Office Account | About Outlook, my Outlook version is reported as "Microsoft Outlook for Microsoft 365 MSO (16.0.13328.20350) 64-bit".

After installing Outlook and opening it for the first time, I added (and configured) my two email accounts.  I entered the POP and SMTP account settings as recommended by my email provider and it worked on the first try.  I was able to send and receive emails using both accounts.  For both accounts, I selected the checkbox for Outlook to "remember" my passwords.  After doing this, Outlook does remember my passwords, but only for a very short time.  Within as little as a few hours, Outlook no longer remembers my passwords and I am prompted to enter them again.

If anyone can give me an idea why this might be happening, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks and best regards,
Paul

kraemerpw this is driving me crazy too.  I just purchased Microsoft 365 and it's been causing an issue ever since.  The "remember password" option seems to be a waste of time.  There is a thread on line that suggests it's because Google has deemed Outlook a less secure application, but there are no solutions offered.  Am heartily regretting the Microsoft 365 purchase at this point, having to enter two sets of email passwords and Google access point approvals many times each day.
