Outlook for Mac 365 crashes during startup
I'm having the same issue. Agree there is no time to do a Force Quit as Outlook crashes too quickly. Just posting to show others that as of Jan 24th problem is still not resolved.
Updated iOS, updated outlook, checked email this morning and then boom! Crash! Restarted MacBook Air, tried the Force Quit options, NOTHING. So like everyone, really frustrated.
- rabbirexJan 25, 2022Copper ContributorHaving initiated this thread, I'll offer my update. In the end, I connected (as administrator of our family subscription) with a human being in tech support. Ultimately, the only thing that worked was deleting the Outlook app and then the Outlook folder in ~/Library/Container. Then reinstalled Outlook from my Microsoft Account page. It installed as new Outlook and now works fine. I lost access to some email that dates back about 10 years (still have the data but the program can't seem to read it). Otherwise, it's okay. I'm getting used to the new format.

TRM7640 I have tried it multiple times, unfortunately with no luck. I even went as far as to delete everything Outlook related after uninstalling, and Outlook still crashes.
I will mention that the user with this issue also has a Comcast email, so I am wondering if this is the common dominator. Is there anyone in this thread that has this issue, not using a Comcast email by chance, just to rule it out? I did not try to setup a different email account myself, and I no longer have the computer to test.
- TRM7640Jan 26, 2022Copper ContributorI'm just now having this issue. It worked ok when I switched to the "new" outlook, but I couldn't create any new folders (options were greyed out). So when I went back to the "old" outlook is whenI had the issue. Will try your fix above. So frustrating we can't get a human being to chime in from Microsoft!
- KennyEJan 25, 2022Copper ContributorAfter waiting for a return call yesterday on this very problem which began yesterday morning, I spent 2 hours with tech support on the phone with the only resolution being, they would have a senior advisor contact me. I am scheduled to speak with someone between 6pm-8pm ET on January 28. There was no mention of a problem on their end. I found out about the Community postings from Apple, who actually had a human answer the phone, and related to me that I am not the only one having an issue. I cannot even get into Outlook on my MacBook Pro. Click and crash and then I receive a similar report as in your initial posting. It's a shame MS support is so poorly responsive. I have hours of uninstalling and reinstalling. You would think my initial tech contact would have informed me there is a problem. In the meantime, I am using the Apple Mail Client. BTW, I kept ignoring the "New Outlook" messages. Did not like the format.

KennyE " I cannot even get into Outlook on my MacBook Pro. Click and crash"
Same. It's beyond frustrating. I'm accessing what I can via the web, but I cannot access my calendars etc, which is a huge issue.
