Outlook for Mac 16.113 Search not functioning in Legacy View
Title says it all.
I have reindexed Spotlight, I have reverted backwards to .112 and .111 and no matter what I do, I can not get the search function to work again in Legacy view.
Search works in the "new" Outlook for Mac, but not in Legacy, which I greatly prefer.
Please help me, someone! I knew there were discussions about .112 search not working, and XML messages, but I haven't found this issue posted anywhere.

Your testing isolates the problem: search works in new Outlook, but not in Legacy, and rolling back from 16.113 to 16.112 or 16.111 did not restore it. That points toward the Legacy profile or Spotlight integration rather than the application build alone. Run Microsoft’s OutlookSearchRepair utility, confirm the Outlook profile and its parent folders are not excluded under Spotlight Privacy, and verify the profile name contains no special characters. Then use Outlook Profile Manager to create a test profile and add the mailbox without deleting the profile. Allow indexing to finish before testing. If search still fails only in Legacy, use new Outlook as the workaround and report it through Help > Contact Support or Help > Feedback with the macOS version, Outlook build, account type, and UTC reproduction time. For Exchange Online mailboxes, Legacy Outlook support ends in October 2026, so migration should be part of the resolution plan.
