We've found that the new version does seem to work on an unmanaged phone, but Intune persists in installing the previous (non-working) version. Looking at all our phones (mostly Samsung, various models) a random handful have installed the new version but most haven't. Staggered roll-out by Intune? We are waiting to see what happens over the next few days.
In the meantime I've ordered some A04s as they are very similar phones but don't seem to be affected by the issue.
- Ian_GCNov 28, 2022Copper ContributorMy test A13 downloaded 4.2245.1 on Friday but I'm in contact with a user who's not getting the updates show as available.
I've just wiped and rebuilt my A13 on Intune and it installed 4.2245.1 as part of the build process.
Maybe Google are staging the rollout of the new version?- ShadR1115Nov 28, 2022Copper Contributor
It does look like a phased rollout as only some of our devices have picked the latest update but the rest have not.
Looks like they still haven't updated on the Play Store
- Ian_GCNov 28, 2022Copper ContributorMy test A13 has downloaded 4.2245.1 but my test A12 is still showing the latest version in the Play Store as 4.2244.1. I wish they'd get on with it!

We're seeing the same with our Intune setup. I suppose we just need to be patient.
