Outlook emails don't open

I open outlook and it will not open emails downloaded to inbox. I have tried to update, uninstall and reinstall but nothing fixes the issue. Itry opening outlook again pick an email to read ant ehr circle appears as it tries to open email then outlook closes, opens again but I still cant open emails to read. any suggestions?
