Hey pluviosilla,
To fix the issue with Outlook not connecting to Gmail:
Check App Passwords: Google may have disabled "App Passwords" due to changes in security policies. You now need to use an OAuth 2.0 authentication method.
Enable Less Secure Apps (if necessary): Go to your Google Account settings and enable "Less secure app access," but note that Google is phasing this out.
Reconfigure Outlook: Remove the existing Gmail account from Outlook and add it again using the new "Google" option, which supports OAuth 2.0 authentication. This option appears during the account setup process.
Enable IMAP Only: Keep IMAP enabled in Gmail settings; POP and IMAP cannot be enabled simultaneously.
Update Outlook: Ensure Outlook 365 is updated to the latest version to support the new authentication methods.
Clear Credentials: Clear any saved credentials in Windows Credential Manager to prevent repeated login prompts.
Following these steps should help restore Outlook’s connection to your Gmail account.
