Outlook - cannot add Google G Suite account - javascript disabled?
Chris_IT not totally accurate as you will see from my response, worked for me and at least some others. The fix that devarro mentioned worked for me once I worked out exactly what it was. The minute I addressed the duplicate account issue the problem with adding the account was fixed. It doesn't fix the JavaScript error but it fixes the issue for me and a few others which causes outlook to flag up the required pages that result in the js error in the first place.

I'm sorry. Your experience looks and sounds exactly the same which is why this sucks. Here is what I did leading up to resolving the conflict:
- Made sure Edge or Chrome were set as the default for every protocol (it still opened IE 11)
- Uninstalled IE 11 (it still opened IE)
- Disabled IE (it wouldn't open and just failed)
I then dug in to why it was opening IE at all and found a MS page stating that Office 2019 will only open IE 11 but the 365 version will open the Win 10 default browser. That was strange because I am seeing many people with 365 versions having the exact same issue. This is when I started suspecting this had nothing to do with Java.
All I know is that nothing I did made a difference until I resolved the account conflict. Literally popped up the SAME window and let me authenticate vs before when it threw the Java error.
Things that I don't think had any affect:
- Changing IE security settings
- Changing default browsers and their settings
- Repairing and reinstalling Office
- Removing and recreating the Outlook profile and account
- Disabling 2FA for the Google account
- Uninstalling two Windows updates from April 12
The only thing that made a difference was logging in to the problem Google account using a private browsing session then selecting Individual and going through the prompts. - skiingscotApr 14, 2022Brass ContributorNo the screenshot you posted is exactly the error I was experiencing. When I put my name@domain in to a new account dialogue box on outlook I was then presented a page showing choice of organisational or individual account. Click either I got the error you posted. Once I logged in to Google using a browser (I used YouTube as app to login to) and chose individual instead of organisational account I got the error about duplicate of accounts. Once I changed the address following the steps on the browser I then attempted to add the account to outlook and worked. Instead of the organisational or individual option it just asked for my password.
Clearly this doesn't fix the underlying js error which Microsoft need to address but fixed the gsuite mailbox add error- jeffreykelkinsMay 25, 2022Copper ContributorThis fixed it for me; I have both a personal and an organizational account, same address.
Using YouTube was the key. None of the other solutions enabled me to add the mailbox to Outlook.
To make it work, I had navigate to and log out of YouTube, and when I went to log back in to my YT profile, I got the prompt/error message about duplicate accounts. Followed the steps to "create a new gmail account" as a place for my data to go (that account did NOT import any mail or other data from my former personal account as far as I can tell). Then I restarted Outlook and successfully added the mailbox.- msabtr6May 25, 2022Copper Contributor
Hi Folks, on or about May 6th my Google Suite account stopped working on Outlook 2019. Talked to Google numerous times. Deleted my account on Outlook and tried to re-install but no luck. Java-Script not supported error. Started thinking it could be an Outlook issue. Then came across your posts. I just tried your Reg edit fix and thanks it is working again. Appreciate your help!
