Opening PDF attachments in Outlook to default PDF viewer
This does not work. The only way I can open a PDF file attachment in Adobe is to download it first. Which I really don't want to do because I don't need the file on my computer.
This is the attachment in the email...
As you can see, this is not Adobe. If the computer was going to open it with Adobe the attachment would look like this...
tadams1583 Just ran into this today and totally agree. This is a terrible change in functionality. I don't want to download the .psf. I don't use one drive so that default is useless. I simply want acrobat to open a file so I can quickly review and yes, more often than not it is a plan file and I need to rotate it. Often it is a draft with no reason to save it so it goes to foldered/archived email with attachment and move on. I hope Microsoft fixes this and a few other nuisances in the new version of Outlook. Stop changing things that are not broken.
- Horacio8246May 28, 2024Copper ContributorI so agree and I can here looking for a solution.... 😞
- MickBarrettJun 14, 2024Copper ContributorI keep trying the new version as I am sure that at some stage we will be forced ot use it, but so far, i really dislike it.
As others have said you cannot directly open PDF from the inbox, a file type we use more than any other.
In the previous version I had a folder that filtered Todays mail so i could just keep abreast of all of the days mail, coming and going, not an option any more as it is to possible to write the rule.
Rubbish, totally rubbish.- MichaelL2460Jul 17, 2024Copper Contributor
Going through the same issue now. This is awful and a step backward in my opinion. Totally slows production and inconveniences the user. I thought newer versions were supposed to have improvements not impediments..
Deleted do you have any solution for this issue??
