Hi chuckmi,
to troubleshoot your issue, you can try this:
Verify Auto-Complete Settings in Outlook:
- Open Outlook.
- Navigate to File > Options.
- Select the Mail tab.
- Ensure that the option "Use Auto-Complete List to suggest names when typing in the To, CC, and BCC lines" is checked.
Clear Auto-Complete List:
- If the option is enabled, clear the Auto-Complete list.
- Open Outlook.
- Go to File > Options > Mail.
- Under Send Messages, click "Empty Auto-Complete List".
- Confirm by clicking Yes.
- Test by sending emails to the same address to check if AutoComplete works.
If the issue persists, consider re-importing suggested contacts or deleting the AutoComplete cache.

In Outlook, my "File" has no "Options", so what do I do instead??
SoniaDMac has it a bit different. Are you using a Microsoft email account or another one? Usually autocomplete is managed by the address book for email accounts.

Further to my last reply, it is only for the one email address! Other email addresses are auto-completing just fine!

Hello Lisa - thanks so much for getting back to me! I'm using Outlook for Mac. I have entered the email address (that I use on a more than daily basis) to my Outlook contacts twice, a year or two ago, as it wasn't working back then either. For ages after that, it was working fine and auto-completing, then this week it completely stopped again. Maybe with an update? Not even if I type in the first 3 symbols of the email address will the memory kick in. It's so frustrating as it's a very long, random email address for sending stuff to xero files, so to remember it and type it in 16 times a day or to type it then copy & paste 16 times a day is tiresome, as you can imagine! Any advice on how to get it working again on the Outlook for Mac app would be very much appreciated :-)

Hi Sonia, what type of email account is it that isn't working? Exchange, Outlook.com/hotmail, IMAP, or something else? That will help me figure it out.

It’s the Outlook app on my Mac. But the crazy thing is that it’s working again now, so I guess it’s just a random thing that happens now & then. I really don’t understand it. I do appreciate your trying to help me, though.
