"New Outlook" replaces inline images with << RTF: Rich object >>

I can flip the toggle back and it works fine, but why does New Outlook auto-replace this?

 

I've scoured the settings but cannot find anything relevant.

    Darn it, I was excited to see this post because I've been struggling to find a solution to this.

    I'm having the same issue. One of our VPs sends a lot of emails with inline RTF objects, and if I can't see them, I can't use the outlook preview (which I otherwise really like).

    If anyone has a solution, I'd love to hear about it. DarylMarkK
