New Outlook Invites don't allow for formatting text with Strikethrough or adding attachments

I've been using the New Outlook for the past few months now but have recently experienced a few shortcomings that I'm curious about. I wanted to update a calendar invite to strikethrough some text ...

I am an independent advisor answering questions about Outlook.

    1. Strikethroughs: Strikethroughs are supported if you are the event organizer.  You are unable to edit the content that you are invited to. You can also forward the message and then edit it.  However, this may not be what you are after.  I understand that you may want to highlight details pertaining to you specifically. Feel free to give Microsoft Feedback by clicking on Help then Feedback.

    2. Here is a "workaround" for attachments in an event.

    To attach an email

    • Option 1: Use Save As, which downloads an email (eml) to your Downloads folder on your local drive. Now, you can drag it to an Outlook Event.
    • Option 2: Use the MyDay feature. The MyDay icon is located at the top right of the screen.
      • Click on the  MyDay Icon and choose the Calendar tab. Drag an email to your Calendar.  However, the content is embedded in the body of the invite vs as an attachment.

    To attach a document

    • Option 1: Use the / command. The slash provides a list of suggested documents.
    • Option 2: Drag and drop a document into the event.
    • Option 3: Use the Attachment dropdown menu
