New Outlook folder pane feature request
Hello!
I hope this message finds you all in good spirits. I am writing to express my concern about a feature that seems to be missing in the new version of Outlook – the ability to partially hide the folders pane by unpinning it.
In the older version of Outlook, I loved the flexibility of being able to display only my favorite folders in a compact format by hiding the folders pane. This feature was incredibly useful, especially because I had added emojis to my folders, making navigation a breeze even when the pane was hidden.
Here is how it was:
With the introduction of the new Outlook, I've noticed that this customization option for the left side pane is no longer available. The pane now takes up a significant amount of space, impacting my overall user experience. While I appreciate the enhancements and new features, this particular change has made me reconsider using the updated version.
I kindly urge the Outlook development team to consider reinstating the functionality that allowed users to partially hide the folders pane in the new Outlook. This customization was a valuable aspect of the user interface, and many users, including myself, would greatly appreciate its return.
Thank you for considering this request, and I hope we can collectively work towards ensuring a more customizable and user-friendly Outlook experience.
Maybe I miss something and this functionality remain, If so I would greatly appreciate any tips or solutions that could help me with that.
Thank you!

I keep switching back to the older version of outlook, because I miss this feature. Its always easier to navigate all unread in favorite folders.

I've recently received new Outlook update and had the same question at first. But, after playing with the new interface for a while, I figured our these three bars as encircled in the image below, which pull the Folder pane, when clicked. I myself preferred the previous look, where it showed the folder names in collapsed view, but this gives that extra space by removing it. Hope this helps!
