New Outlook App Opens Tasks in My Browser, instead of Within the App
Teresa_Cyrus So it appears now MS is no longer allowing the old view in the app and instead open MS Mail/Calendar when switching to the new view (which is also sunset soon).
I dont mind opening the tasks in a browser but its not the best solution. On top of that, I was able to handle 3 flagged emails before all of them (!!) disappeared for no reason. I can't bring them up again. Not even with restarting the APP.
This is a very disappointing experience with the new outlook.
The good news is that the To-Do App will soon be available in the New Outlook application client instead of the web browser. The expected rollout date is January 2024. I have a Public Preview Setting, and on the second week of January, I gave it a try. Unfortunately, the app stalled. I attempted to use it again today, but it redirected me to the browser. However, it is still on the way and will be available soon. Stay tuned!
During my investigation of your flagging issue, I could not recreate it. Nevertheless, when I clicked on a flagged item or any task, it still opened in the web browser. Please report your flagging issue to Microsoft by clicking on Help | Contact Support.
I also recommend that New Outlook first-time users allow 24 hours for tasks to populate.
If you are interested, I have a video demonstration of the To-Do App.

Thanks for the info. I was able to get the flags working again. I also switched back to the "old" version but it just opens the "mail" application not the outlook application.
Im glad they will bring it back to the application. For me it was not useable because I wasnt even able to show "related conversation" in the browser-version.
I'll see what else I can learn from your video. Thanks!- Teresa_CyrusJan 30, 2024MVP
For related conversations, select Group into Conversation.
View | Conversation | Select the drop-down menu.
If you are not a fan of grouping your conversations, right-click an email, choose Find Related.
In many cases, if you can not find the feature in the ribbon, just right-click. 😁
