Dears,
The navigation bar has been moved to the left. How can I change it back to be on the bottom?

- Rick BrooksCopper ContributorThis is a HORRIBLE Downgrade in space efficiency. This Nav bar used to take up about 1cm x 5cm on my screen. Now it takes up 1.5cm x 25cm for the exact same 5 buttons. A complete waste of space and a real downgrade in the UI on Outlook.
- ndsj2020Copper ContributorTotally agree. Four ikons are now taking up 5% of my screen. It's just insane. It's a big, long empty bar on my 4K scree the length of the entire screen... These same ikons used to take up 0.5% of the screen. Just insane.
This makes me wonder, do Microsoft employees actually use Outlook? If they did, they would know how dumb this idea is. And they force it on us. There is no way to put it back where it belongs. A big UI downgrade indeed.- PhilS0913Brass ContributorIn the Registry using Registry Edit find: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\ExperimentEcs\outlook\Overrides

Follow these instructions for creating a new registry entry to enable the navigation bar to appear at the bottom again.

- ChinmayK1988Copper ContributorMicrosoft, do not force change upon us. At least give option in GUI to go back, so that people who do not like it, can go back.
For this particular issue, for people with small laptop screen, horizontal space is important. Wasting this space for not much needed bar, is making emails pane smaller and resulting in smaller texts. I hope you understand and will bring a customizable option. Yes, Microsoft. Listen to your user community. This comment explains the users' reasoning perfectly.
- M_Che888Copper ContributorI don't want to be repetitive, but I was asked if there is a place to submit opinion about this change to the Outlook navigation bar. The link is to Microsoft Tech community thread which is apparently viewed by Microsoft. It has been posted a few times in this discussion (the last time a couple of replies before this one). Here is the link again (File under FEEDBACK, OUTLOOK, DON'T LIKE THE NAV BAR CHANGE, COMPLAINT, lol): https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/idea/6b9896c4-e49f-ec11-a81c-002248504419

I was able to get it to go back by turning off the switch next to "Try it Now" after Coming Soon (upper RH corner in the toolbar), and then restarting Outlook.
However, my understanding is that this change is going to be forced in the future. I am VERY frustrated because this new format takes up significant screen real estate on the left side - 1/2" of my 14" diagonal laptop screen - taking that space directly away from the Preview Pane, which is where I spend about 85% of my Outlook time.
- robertdrouhardCopper ContributorMake sure to go here and make your frustrations known:

Check if this is Switched ON, if yes then switch it off and restart your outlook. It would go back to the left bottom again.
If this is switched ON it means you opt yourself to test the upcoming features of outlook in advance.
- robertdrouhardCopper ContributorWe don't even have that option enabled.
