Microsoft Teams Calendar shows the current and the old teams appointments...
Hello...
I hope this message finds you well. My name is Alaa Al Kattan, and I work in the IT department at a school in Lebanon. We have been utilizing Microsoft Teams extensively for online learning, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic and currently due to the ongoing situation in our country.
We have encountered a significant issue with the calendar feature in Microsoft Teams. Specifically, all past appointments related to our online learning sessions during the pandemic are reappearing in our 2024 calendar. This is causing confusion and makes it difficult for us to manage our current schedule effectively.
We would greatly appreciate your guidance on how to remove these outdated appointments from our calendar. If there are specific steps we should follow or if further information is required from our side, please let us know.
Thank you for your assistance.
Best regards,
Alaa Al Kattan

1. Clear Teams Cache
Close the Teams application
Delete the cached files:
Windows:
Press Win + R, type %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams and enter.
Delete all contents of the folder (Cache, blob_storage, and other subfolders).
Mac:
Open Access, press Cmd + Shift + G, type ~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Teams and delete the contents.
Restart Teams and check if the calendar is working.
2. Quit Teams completely.
Press Win + R and enter the following path (depending on your Teams version):
New Teams:
shell
%localappdata%\Packages\MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Microsoft\MSTeams
3. Classic Teams:
shell
%appdata%\Microsoft\Teams
Delete all files in this folder and restart Teams.
4. Manually clean up the Outlook calendar
In Outlook:
Switch to Calendar view.
Search for duplicate meetings (try the keyword Teams or the name of the meeting organizer).
Right-click to delete the duplicate entries (be careful to keep the correct version).
5. Switch Teams Versions
If both New Teams and Classic Teams are installed:
Uninstall one of the versions (Classic Teams is recommended).
Go to Settings > Applications > Uninstall a Program to remove the old version of Teams.
6. Rebuild Outlook Profile
Close Outlook and open Control Panel > Mail > Show Profile.
Create a new profile, set it to default, and re-add the email accounts.
Restart Outlook to synchronize calendars.
