Major Issues with Recent Update *New Outlook Desktop

You have Microsoft Outlook Version 1.2024.1002.100 (Production).

Client Version is 20241004002.11.

  • Favorites section of folder pane has completely disappeared. Yes, I have 'Show favorites' selected - was perfectly fine in previous version.
  • There is some sort of memory leak or memory issue that was not occuring previously. Have to force exit the Outlook desktop app every 20-30 minutes as it freezes and uses ~80% of cpu memory.
  • It is adding an extra linebreak to new messages when there is no linebreak that exists in my signature.

I will be rolling back to the classic Outlook Desktop, everything is quick, easy, and fast.  Also my email signatures and contacts are available in classic but lost in the new version.

I'm using the new Outlook 2024 as well, and I am dealing with some more issues. When I create a new mail rule, it takes tens of minutes to complete before I can manually run another one. Additionally, I feel that some rules are not working, as a simple rule based on the sender is supposed to move emails to a specific folder. However, even after running the rule multiple times, it has not been applied to the existing emails.

My 'new' Outlook is no longer opening at all, I've had to revert to the old version. Nothing happens when I click on the 'toggle' for the new version. It was working perfectly fine up to yesterday. I've tried to reset it but no changes and it won't allow me to uninstall it either.

Same issue and if I open apps menu there are a bar underneath like it should be updating.

Also went to Microsoft store and checked downloads, showed an update but that failed also

Having exactly the same issues. After repeated calls into Microsoft and hours on the phone with technicians, the issue was not resolved! It is eating up my memory!!!!

I'm in the states and have also experienced major issues with the new Outlook freezing up on me during normal use.

I'm having the same issues with my version of Outlook:

You have Microsoft Outlook Version 1.2024.1002.100 (Production).

    Client Version is 20241004002.11

    WebView2 Version is 129.0.2792.79

After opening Outlook, it takes about 5-10 minutes and you can hear the laptop start to spin up the fans and then I see this message:

Here is some more info on the issue:

      https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/microsoft/microsoft-outlook-bug-blocks-email-logins-causes-app-crashes/

Workaround I found that seems to work for now:

      https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook_com/forum/all/new-outlook-memory-usage/a77568db-d36c-41d7-b1ef-21ee6c339828?page=3

The summary is clearing your calendar reminders if you have any and that should fix the issue.
