Is there any way to get around the 30 day waiting period when I edit an alias?

Long story short, an email that someone really, really needs access to was sent to their Outlook email account. Due to a heavy influx of spam, they created an alias for this email account, and the email they need access to was sent to this alias. They edited the settings in order to redirect the emails from their alias to their main Outlook email account, but they are now being told they have to wait 30 days before they can gain access to the emails sent to the alias. Is there any way to get around this 30 day period or access those alias emails sooner rather than later? Thank you in advance for any information you can offer.
