Is it me, or is recently introduced Yahoo oAuth buggy?
I use Outlook Desktop to access my Yahoo email account. In the past, I have simply set up App Passwords at Yahoo and used them with Outlook Desktop.
Within the last days, MS seems to have introduced Yahoo oAuth into Outlook Desktop.
I found this article.
How to add a Yahoo IMAP account to Outlook Desktop without an App Password - Microsoft Support
Now, I receive a pop-up no less than twice per day asking me for my username, password, and 2-Step Verification code for Yahoo or my account disconnects, and the pop-up can't be cleared.
I've exited Outlook and gone through the Windows control panel to the Mail accounts config and tried to hard code my Yahoo App Password. It seems as soon as I start outlook, that is ignored and the oAuth message pops up.
Has anyone else found this to be buggy, too?
It would be awesome if it worked better than just using an App Password. More secure for sure. But, since it isn't working, it is annoying to say the least and a major kick-in-the-pants to my productivity.
Does anyone know a workaround to go back to using the App Password till this bugginess is worked out?
Thank you in advance for all your thoughts and suggestions.
