iCloud for Windows - "Installed Version Of Outlook Not Supported"

HI

New to this site.

If this is the wrong forum (or the wrong site even) my apologies

I have a WIndows 11 laptop (with latest updates applied), have a Microsoft account and am using Outlook desktop, version

Microsoft® Outlook® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2403 Build 16.0.17425.20176) 64-bit

SO I am using Office 365 and it seems that MSO means its a subscription based account and also something called "click to run".  I think I downloaded Outlook from the Microsoft Store.

I want to use iCloud for Windows to sync contacts and calendars to my iCloud account

Downloaded iCloud for Windows from Microsoft store, installed it, and when I try to enable the "Calendars and Contacts" slider I get a message saying "Installed Version Of Outlook Not Supported"

Apart from the fact that Outlook 365 is supported, in investigating this issue I spent loads of time on the Apple boards where it seems you need to uninstall Outlook and re-install a supported version.  Problem is some people say the version to install is only from the microsoft store, others saying you dont use the microsoft store version and download it elsewhere (but dont say where), others saying iCloud for WIndows only supports the "click to run" version (which my very limited knowledge doesnt mean much other than I thought the version I have IS the click to run version)

Please is anyone able to help me with suggestions to install the version of Outlook and its source that iCLoud for Windows is happy to work with

Thanks very much for any help in advance

Regards

      jdcurtis1973 hi

      never got any replies

      still not working

had a microsoft tech do remote control on my laptop who tried all sorts of things, different office installers, still not working.

they advised uninstalling office and icloud then installing icloud first

havent done this as i dont want to risk it plus i think apple are arrogant that theynsay its not them

      sorry
