I have removed my hotmail account accidentally, how can i restore this?
I accidentally (Saturday 5/4/2024) deleted my hotmail account and am desperately looking for a way to get it back, preferably with content.
It went as follows:
In account settings, > your details > Manage your email address or phone number for login > I initially added my business email address under account aliases
Next, I set my business address as the primary alias.
Then I deleted my email, not knowing that it would mean deleting my account completely.
I can't log in to my hotmail account anymore.
Please can you help me to restore my email account

When you remove a hotmail address from that dialog, it is gone forever, unfortunately. (Outlook.com addresses can usually be added back immediately.)
I don't know if this ever gets an account back, but try the steps in this article - https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/my-username-and-password-have-stopped-working-802abb61-19db-4e88-a5ff-fc83c97d1a9d under "If you still see "We couldn't find an account with that username." section

If you accidentally removed your Hotmail account, the way to restore it depends on what exactly was removed. If you only removed the account from your device or email app, you can simply add it again. Open your email app or Outlook, go to account settings, choose Add Account, and sign in with your Hotmail email address and password. Once you log in, your emails, contacts, and folders will sync back automatically because they are stored on Microsoft’s servers. However, if the Hotmail account itself was closed or deleted from the Microsoft account settings, you may still be able to recover it if it has been less than about 60 days since the deletion. In that case, go to the Microsoft sign-in page and try logging in with your Hotmail email address. Microsoft will guide you through the account recovery process where you may need to verify your identity using a phone number, alternate email, or security questions. If the recovery period has already passed, the account usually cannot be restored, and you may need to create a new email account.

Hello,
I am experiencing a serious issue regarding my Microsoft (Hotmail) account that requires resolution.
I previously had a unique email address that I personally created and actively used. I was also using this address as my Apple ID. However, I deleted this account some time ago. Now, when I try to recover it, I receive the message: “This Microsoft account does not exist.”
The point I find difficult to understand and require clarification on is the following:
This email address is unique and is not currently being used by any other user. Despite this, it appears that it can neither be recreated nor recovered. This situation creates a significant contradiction in terms of logic and user rights. Therefore, I kindly request a clear and explicit explanation on the following matters:
- Is it truly impossible to restore a permanently deleted Hotmail account?
- If so, why is it not allowed to recreate an email address that is no longer in use?
- Is there any exceptional review or resolution process for cases that result in user hardship, such as mine?
Since this email address is linked to my Apple ID, I am currently unable to access my device, and this is causing serious inconvenience and hardship.
I kindly request a detailed and satisfactory response.
Thank you.

HELP PLS! the same thing happen to me. I lost everything 25 years of emails. How can I recover my account?

I opened mine back in 1990s during high school - when computers were cracking the hard floppy still running on windows 95 - somehow my main account - linked to everything to include APPLE - was an ‘alias’ whatever they (Microsoft) thinks that means isn’t what the rest of us think it means. I clicked the ‘REMOVE’ tab button and it said do I want it deleted from this account my secondary it was somehow unicorn majestically linked together - of course I don’t want the main accessed so I hit the do it button and it wiped 30+ years away. My only question is - who thought this was a great idea to think this ‘removal button’ was the best idea? At no time did I ever log into that main account to do this so that shouldn’t have even been possible in the first place…. I’m heated - but I have hope….
Once deleted, addresses cannot be added back or used to create a new account. Sorry.
The addresses weren't in separate accounts that were linked. They were both are aliases of the same account.
They need a remove button for people who want to remove an alias from their account (you can have up to 10 addresses on an account.) I would like to see a delay in permanently removing it - in a lot of cases, twenty four hours would be enough. But would want at least seven days. or use the same as the minimum for closing an account - 30 days.
Did you delete the address from the account? If so, it is gone and cannot be recovered. But all mail in the mailbox is safe. Log into outlook.com using an address or phone number still on the account.
The only way the mail would be deleted is if you deleted it or you closed the account. (You have 30 - 60 days to reopen the account.

I have also lost my hotmail account accidentally and I think it has been more than 60 days as when I fill out the recovery form the email is not found. Possibly to reach out to an actual customer support for them to look into this issue? I have had this hotmail account since 1998.

Where you able to recover your account ? I am having the same issue.
If you deleted the Hotmail address from your account, it is not recoverable. Sorry.
If the address was deleted, it cannot be recovered. Sorry.
Support cannot recover it for you.

Hi dghuman
I have exactly the same problem. My hotmail email account is no longer accessible after I changed my microsoft account to a new email.
Did you manage to get your account back? I've tried recovering the account via https://account.live.com/acsr but this purely triggered a password reset!
Did you find another solution?
Thanks!

To restore your accidentally deleted Hotmail account:
- Act Quickly: You have up to 60 days after deletion to recover your account.
- Go to the Microsoft Account Recovery Page: Visit account.live.com/acsr.
- Enter Your Email Address: Follow the prompts to recover your account.
- Verify Your Identity: Complete the verification process using a recovery email or phone number.
If successful, your account will be restored. If more than 60 days have passed, the account and its data might be permanently deleted.
