I don't really know how to request this so I will put Reminder in Outlook

I don't want to create a meeting just a little reminder if I just post in the date I want it lets me type in what I assume is a reminder.  I click on it and I think its just a reminder - can I also send various people this same reminder? because it is not a meeting.  Just wondering if I am overthinking this?

If you are using O365, Planner can be a great option for this. Other than that, using the Appointment or Task option in the Outlook App would do well too. You can access that by selecting "New Items" in the Home tab of your Calendar.

Let me know if that helps, or let me know what version of Outlook you use and I can provide more specifics!

It sounds like you are talking about an "Appointment". Kind of like a meeting where you are the only person.

To send this to other people you have to change it to a Meeting and Invite them.

There are other options for Task or Teams Reminders. Search for those terms for details.

  • You can set a timed reminder in Outlook by going to Start → Reminders → Add Reminder.

I am sorry, but I don't follow. Where is the "Start" button/menu choice you are referring to?
