How to Disable Outlook from Previewing PDF Attachments
I'm on Outlook version 1.2023.526.100 (Production). Client Version is 20230519010.07 . When clicking on a preview to look at a pdf file, Outlook brings up it's own preview program. I need to revert...
I followed your instructions and rebooted my computer. It didn't work 😞
For default apps by file type, it should show Adobe as the default program in those file types.
It should actually be these steps
- Open Outlook on your computer.
- Go to the "File" tab in the top left corner.
- Select "Options" from the left-hand menu. This will open the Outlook Options window.
- In the Outlook Options window, select "Trust Center" from the left-hand menu.
- Click on the "Trust Center Settings" button on the right-hand side.
- In the Trust Center window, select "Attachment Handling" from the left-hand menu.
- Uncheck the box that says "Turn off Attachment Preview" or similar option.
- Click on "OK" to save the changes and close the Trust Center window.
- Close the Outlook Options window.
After following these steps, Outlook should no longer preview PDF attachments
- None of that worked. I went back to previous Outlook version 16.0.16327.20248.
