How can I control which columns message preview occupies ?

In Outlook 365 the 'Message Preview' (not to be confused with the reading pane) is a 1,2, or 3 line 'preview' of each message. In Outlook 2010 is did not occupy the space below the From column.  I believe in only occupied the space below the subject.

In OL365, the message preview is under all columns.  This is driving some (older) users crazy and they are claiming headaches, etc. from the lack of whitespace and not being able to look at the from column and having message content in there.  Doesn't matter if they are right or wrong, I'm being asked to 'fix it'.

So, is there a way to control which columns the message preview occupies?

Probably just under subject.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I am in a similar situation. Within my organization, we have staff that remember Message Preview appearing differently and want it to only appear in a single column like Subject.

It would be great if we can great some feedback from Microsoft on any method that could be employed within Outlook or registry to achieve this preference, even better if this becomes a feature in a future Outlook build.
