group by sender create two group for the same email address

hi. strange problem. inbox, click on "from" column. correctly create group by sender

for one specific sender, i find two group. same label. same email!!!

how is possible this??

analyzing header, I found only one little difference...

group one are apperantly standard email

group two are all sended using an iphone!

and so, in the header, I can find this difference

sender one From: Paolo D'Anna <email address removed for privacy reasons>email address removed for privacy reasons

sender two From: =?utf-8?Q?Paolo_D=E2=80=99Anna?= <email address removed for privacy reasons>

maybe the apostrophe used in the label could be the problem?

thank for your help

  • Hi lavez6900,

the issue you're encountering is related to the encoding of the sender's name in the email header, causing your email client to create two separate groups for what seems to be the same sender.

The difference lies in the encoding of special characters, such as the apostrophe, in the sender's name.
