Gmail workspace and new Outlook sync problems
yes, when we were reviewing the settings, we saw some features missing. once you sign into using your office 365 those features are there. However, another issue that is raised with them as to manually loginto the app with office 365. As email wont get recognised if the MX and other records are different. But in the classic desktop apps, you can sign into the apps without a issue!
Yeah, I've seen that too. I don't think this applies to you, for others reading and learning...
If you have two Microsoft accounts, business and personal and have your email hosted with another company using IMAP, you could have a difficult time adding it. I believe the new account set up now has an option for "Other" and you can try the IMAP and it might work. I've had to move clients to full Exchange off their old server to get 365 programs to flow better. Kind of the goal here though, seamless working. The MX records matter usually but not with New Outlook. Microsoft puts itself first in line to set up accounts. It's their product, so that makes sense lol.
The most challenging request I have ever had to figure out was a client who had 365 business apps with Exchange plan 1 billed individually. The email was in Google Workspace and since they had a 365 full plan, MS would not connect their GW account at all. This was a year ago, so things might have changed. All I needed was for the client to turn off the Exchange license and their tech provider denied it. So they had to use Outlook Classic for that email only.
