be warned if you are reading this in June 2022 - there are scammers in this thread phishing / trying to engage people
they are posting email addresses
but despite reports to 'moderator' - they continue to masquerade as legitimate users
and posts (like this) warning others in the community - are being deleted
....
GOOD NEWS: the solution by the REAL Stewart Goodin WORKS.
make sure you do the last step = MAIL
- and go back into settings to allow 'mail' ('windows computer') in the APPS, after you have gone through the rigmarole of 2 factor authentication.
- it will 'generate' a "16 digit passcode/password" that hyou then copy and paste into outlook (replacing your own pw)
(note: don't know if you can just make up your OWN '16 dig pw' ? - who has time or the will to test?)
& in JUNE 2022 - 'allow less secure apps' is redundant/not an option
AFAIK, there's 2 solutions: Stewart's / 2 FACTOR AUTH + MAIL ON THIS PC (16 dig pw)
or
another registry something edit - even more complicated / time consuming
PLEASE send invoices for your time to MICROSOFT.
or they will never learn.
