Find Related Messages Not Working

I'm trying to search for emails in the same subject string, however when I use the "find related messages in this conversation" function, many times nothing shows up.  Sometimes only indexed emails only show up.  I've checked that I'm connected to the internet, so that's not the issue.  I think one constant I've noticed is that it consistently doens't work when I have autoreplies turned on.  

I feel that there is a bug in the search function for outlook.  It's making it nearly impossible for me to manage my inbox.
