It is, yes, and it can in turn create issues with configuring the profile, or even message delivery. Best talk with your org's IT staff to figure the best way to proceed here.

I am the IT Specialist for this small franchise. I have not come across this issue in the past. The domains for this company were in really bad shape due to their last IT Spec that didn't know what he was doing or how to ask for help when he came across a new thing.
I had a feeling this is why I couldn't use the email domain on Micrsoft as I already saw MX, CNAME, and TXT's set up pointing to google.
