DO NOT UPGRADE TO "NEW OUTLOOK"

I would recommend not upgrading to "new outlook" - it is the worst implementation I've seen in over 30 years.  It is not an "upgrade" to outlook it is a brand new application that really sucks. rules you can't change, almost no integration to contacts, contact application sucks. I can't go back because going to "new outlook" changed my mailbox. I am currently trying to move off outlook to another application - any recommendations. This implementation of Outlook is unusable. DO NOT GO TO "NEW OUTLOOK" until microsoft fixes about 100 problems.

At our business we keep trying to prevent "New" Outlook from installing on our company's computers but it is a constant battle even though we are enterprise and intune users.

Microsoft will change how they are distributing "New" Outlook and a few of our users install it. They find it doesn't work as expected and we have to go have them uninstall it, and yet again send out communications to avoid "New" Outlook as it is still an Alpha product and missing many features.

You'd think Microsoft would respect a businesses and not continue to force a faulty product upon us, but they do.

New Outlook comes with New Workflows. Yes, there are still missing classic features and hiccups. Microsoft has firmly said that all features will not make it to New Outlook.

With that being said, sometime users try to use New Outlook the same as classic. I support your decision if you stay or find another app. If you decide to keep New Outlook, I want to help with your experience.

I have to agree. On top of that, 2 days ago (01/09/2026), my "new Outlook" was working just fine. Today, I can't open it and get an error message! I would have preferred Microsoft stay with the "Mail" application on desktops, etc. Spending hours researching how to fix has gone nowhere, and it is more frustrating than productive! Has anyone else experienced this problem recently?

Not sure I understand what "changed my mailbox" means. Can you give some more details please.

You should absolutely be able to switch back to Classic Outlook. There are numerous guides. e.g.

If that doesn't work for you, come back here are tell us where the process went off the tracks.
