Dissappointed: Unable to create bookmark link within new Outlook email message
In the past, I used to be able to include bookmarks within an Outlook email message to point to a different section of the email (ex: click here for French), which would take the user directly to that section. I cannot see this in the New Outlook and can only include a URL in a link. What's worse, it looks like my old bookmark links from past emails I have sent across my company are no longer working in the New version of Outlook.
In new Outlook I am unable to edit my hyperlink and there is no optionto include "Place in Document". Furthermore, when I try to check out old bookmark links, I see this "https://outlook.office.com/mail/options/accounts-category/accounts-subcategory?nativeVersion=1.2024.725.400#x_FR", which sounds like the feature is no longer available. This was a really useful feature and removing it completely is a mistake in my opinion. I should not have to create HTML/CSS code for simple email messages. It's a waste of time.
Is there a work-around? [Side note: I have been using Microsoft tools for the entirety of my professional career in Communications. It is WILDLY disappointing that since I've had to switch to this new version, I am spending an hour a day trying to find answers, workarounds and fixes to seemingly simple things that are either 1) Not intuitively available 2) Have been removed completely 3) Simply no longer work the same way. Please allow to revert back to Old version while you work out the bugs!]

Agreed, this feature seems to STILL not be available almost a year later. There are such simple things that are no longer available including text wrap on an image. This is highly disappointing.
Based on the roadmap, a Newsletter feature is scheduled for November 2024. Hopely, the bookmark feature is available.
Give Microsoft the feedback.

skirpichova I also have the same issue. I create a weekly email newsletter with as TOC linking to the different sections. The TOC links no longer work in either version of Outlook, both the NEW and CLASSIC.

RosemaryL Ditto here - two features in particular that don't work in the new Outlook are killing me: no more Bookmarks and no ability to do Mail Merge with Word. Wwwwhhhhhaaaaaaaaatttttttttttt?
