Display the next email after deleting an email in it's own window?

In MS 365 Outlook MSO (Version 2408), when I double click on an email in my inbox to display the email in it's own window, when I click on the "delete" garbage can in that window, it deletes the email then closes the window.

Is there an option to display the next email in that window instead of closing it?

    Check Open mail in a separate window and Close then go to the next item and have a look to check if the reading pane is enabled.

      By "Check" to you mean enable/set the "Open mail in a separate window and Close" option?

      Ah, I found it.  Under:  File -> Options -> Mail -> Other -> After moving or deleting an open item

      I need to change "return to the current folder" to "open the next item"
