delay in adding an attachment to an email

for some reason on my iMac pro I am having an issue with outlook. when I want to send an email and include an attachment, there is a delay. It does not happen with I create a new profile on my computer or  on my laptop. I tried to delete the app and reinstall, it still happens. any ideas
