Creating meeting by highlighting timespan

Using the online Outlook version.

What happened to this? You used to be able to highlight a span of time on a day and you'd get the "popup" for the event details. Now, there's no popup - you just start typing the title, which means you still have to open the event to add the details. This isn't efficient. Is there some setting to revert this behavior back?
