Classic Outlook (Microsoft 365): copilot button stays gray
I have installed MS Office 365 single user test version on Windows 26H2 (intel)
Microsoft® Outlook® für Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2608 Build 16.0.20326.20072) 64 Bit, no more updates are found.
But the copilot button is disabled/geyed out
In word copilot is available
On outlook.com copilot is not shown.
I have setup a new outlook profile with an outlook.de email. I renewed the license. I cheched all options for diagnostic data, restarted windows and outlook, started new mail, I did all what google and chat gpt suggested
No success.
Any idea how to activate the copilot in Outlook classic?
Thanks, Chris

I don’t know which license you are using. Normally, when this happens, the Outlook add-on is not loading correctly or the license is not valid to use Copilot, or your Copilot credits (Office Family) have ended.
If your license is fine, try opening Outlook Web and Classic at the same time and test Copilot in both, then compare the behavior. If Copilot in Outlook Web does not work, there is likely a problem with your license (I suggest opening a ticket with Microsoft).
If the problem still occurs, I recommend reinstalling Outlook (this tip is useful if you are in a rush), because if the issue is temporary, Classic Outlook may fix itself
