Changes in gmail.com sync into outlook but any changes made in outlook don't sync
Hi , I have a gmail account linked to my outlook which I've used successfully for several years. This week, changes made in outlook are no longer replicated in gmail but changes made in gmail replicate into outlook. I've removed and readded the account, restarted outlook, removed the account from gmail and readded it but it's made no difference and it's driving me spare. Can anyone help...?

Because changes still arrive from Gmail, the next test is the failing direction, not another account removal. Please identify whether this is classic Outlook, new Outlook, Mac, or mobile, and whether the affected changes are message moves, deletions, or read status. Use one disposable message present in both places: change its read status in Outlook and check the same message in Gmail, then repeat in the other direction. Confirm that you are editing the Gmail mailbox rather than a local archive folder. Review the Google authorization for Microsoft apps and services; Microsoft's classic Outlook guidance specifically identifies the required mail-access consent. Do not enable less-secure authentication. Record any synchronization error and the Outlook version. In new Outlook, Microsoft's manual Sync button does not support Gmail accounts, so that is not a reliable repair step. Preserve unsynchronized items and escalate the reproducible example if consent and account placement are correct.
