I believe the outgoing server name must be smtp.office365.com.

If a new Thunderbird profile works, then for most people it is best to continue using the new profile.- aleclercqSep 11, 2024Copper Contributor
Hi Frederik
I created a new profile, set up it under Exchange/Office365 with the add-on OWL.
I try to send a email test and the error message is :
"Login to server outlook.office365.com with username (my email address) failed.
At this point I do not know what to do. Everything works perfectly except the sending part. 😞- Sep 11, 2024OK, then next try. 🙂
Is it in your case mandatory that you use the OWL plugin? (to get your data over OWA)
Isn't the current 'standard' option possible?
See: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/microsoft-oauth-authentication-and-thunderbird-202
This page talks also about the same error you receive.
In case you need to use the OWL plugin; are u using the latest version? (currently 1.3.3)
