Attachments to calendar events

I have outlook version 16.106.1 and for some reason the attach file icon is not active.  Can I get some advice on how I can activate this so I can add attachments to events I schedule in my calendar.  I don't seem to be able to even copy over emails to scheduled events.  Any advice appreciated.

    Hi Christobalk62, if the attachment button is greyed out for calendar events in Outlook for Mac, first check whether you are using a Microsoft 365/Exchange calendar or an IMAP/third-party calendar. Attachments on calendar events are much more reliable with Exchange/Microsoft 365 calendars. Also test in Outlook on the web with the same account. If attachments work on the web but not in Outlook for Mac, update Outlook, switch the New Outlook toggle if available, and recreate the account profile.
