Application error when opening Word

I can’t open any Word docs on my PC (Windows 10).  Started today. Error says ‘the application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142).  Click OK to close the application’.

I’ve used the Repair function, I’m not out of subscription (pay an annual fee each December)

Please help
