Anyone else hate the New Desktop Outlook?.
Hello people
I was wondering if anyone else Hated the Desktop version of Outlook?. To me its slower and unresponsive compared to previous versions. Even Windows Mail was faster and the brings up old email accounts that you deleted and no longer use long ago.
It seems while good intentions this one has not been tested properly. Just shoved out the door. And lastly trying to find Emails that your sent or received is another nightmare. You have to restart twice before it finally decides oh look there emails.

I don't care about a "consistent user experience" if it is a bad one. Microsoft are now so arrogant they have no idea what the customer wants or needs. From the first minute, the smug look on this Manager's face confirmed this to me, not that I needed any confirmation. In my opinion, Windows 11 and now the new Outlook have delivered no new functionality worthy of mention, while the user experience is ruined. Neither of those things are my idea of progress. To add to my frustration, I bought a new laptop last week and eventually found out that the Desktop folder is hidden away in the Onenote folder. Utterly pointless and brainless. If I want to put ANY folder in Onenote, I will move it. I don't need Microsoft to make the decision for me.

The New Outlook is a complete and utter disaster. So many bugs, it would take me many hours to report with documentation on all of them. It's pretty clear there wasn't much testing before rolling this new version out. It is NOT intuitive, searching is abysmal, and did I mention bugs? You know it's bad when the "solution" is actually to use the Outlook Web App or revert back to the old Outlook. Seriously? What a complete JOKE.

When I purchased a new computer I paid for the Microsoft Office bundle, which brought me this new Outlook fixture. So every time I open Outlook I am confronted with a advert, and am told that I can avoid these if I pay a monthly fee. Sorry - I already paid for the program itself. Otherwise the new Outlook is a mess. Deleted email reappear - one has remained in the deleted folder for two months and probably never will disappear. There apparently is no junk filter at all and everything comes through. I could go on - but what's the use.

Maybe https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/install-or-reinstall-classic-outlook-on-a-windows-pc-5c94902b-31a5-4274-abb0-b07f4661edf5 can help.

I imported a couple of pst folders so I could access my e-mail records which is critical for my business. Opening them basically locks Outlook up so I cannot access years and years of stored records.
Completely stupid

This is so frustrating. It is time for other providers to step up. None of these major tech companies actually give a hoot about what user's want. I have been using Outlook since it was first released. My experience is that it really became great over time, then it peaked and now is in a downward spiral. What we really need is new blood and serious competition. I use both Windows and Mac. Apple Mail is nothing to write home about either.

Worst major application I have ever used. How can they roll out something so bad to a global set of users? Did not one actual end user test it? It's atrocious for mail, calendar, tasks, and everything else someone typically might use Outlook for.

they are determined to make changes for the sake of change. Clearly, the newer crop of programmers and managers at microsoft are increasingly incompetent. Microsoft products just continue to deteriorate. Once an alternative is available, I would drop microsoft like a lead balloon.

This is the WORST application I have ever used. Important emails get "locked up." You learn later that they were never sent and have to search to find them.
The app is clunky.... not at all user friendly.
Adjustments to old versions were clearly made and installed without fully testing it. I will be searching for an alternative.

Clunky, glitchy, awkward....does not have the professional look and/or feel of the classic version. Currently, there is a toggle to switch back and forth between classic and new, Lord please don't ever let it go. On top of the injury I am being insulted: when the calendar in classic mode is displays blank for me. So have to toggle to the horrible new version for the calendar and then toggle back to classic for or mail. No one can figure out what is doing this . Productivity loss.....thank you Microsoft for attempting to reinvent the wheel.
